Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Shameless (215)

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless
Price: Php575
Available: Revlon counters at leading malls

I've been wanting a purple lipstick for a few months now but I was always hesitant to buy.
Of course, it's purple! It could be hard to pull off and though it look good on celebrities,
it's a different story when I'll use it. :)

Still, I got the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless and many compared this to MAC Heroine.
Revlon matte balms as its name suggests are lippies which are matte but is moisturizing like a balm.

I love how they come in a thick crayon/pencil form.

But instead of sharpening it, you can twist the silver bottom and voila! It's so convenient.

This color is definitely not for the faint of heart. The color's 'shameless' to boot.
It is a must to exfoliate before using Shameless or you will end up with a patchy lip.
Aside from exfoliating, I put a balm underneath, well,
this one doesn't moisturize like a balm as it claim.
But I love it's minty smell and a little sting when applied, I guess,
that is where the balm claim come in.

I notice the color is slightly on the pink purple side. Coverage is fairly opaque and since my lips has a slight tint already, I guess it altered the color when applied. It is not as purple as when I swatched it in my hand.
After a few hours the slight sheen disappeared but the lip color stayed for 4hours.
I once wore Shameless and layered it with MAC pink pigeon, it stayed for more than 7 hours! I was amazed, even after a heavy meal, my lip is still tinted with a pretty pink purple color.
I then started using shameless under other lippies. I get a long stay lipstick! Ladies, you should try it.

Pros:
1. Comes cheap for a stunning color
2. Buildable and blends well with other lipstick colors
3. Ease of use, pencil like and twistable bottom for
4. Love the minty smell
5. Stays long

Cons:
1. Lip must be prepped every time, need to exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate or lips will all be patchy.

Revlon Matte Balm's a good buy, I won't stop with Shameless, so far I saw 10 colors at the Revlon counter and had my eye on Audacious and Unapologetic.

Til then! :)

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Peach Parfait

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
Price: Php525
Available: Revlon Counters at leading malls

One of hubby's 'pasalubong' when he came home from months long of work,
already reviewed the others here and here.

This is the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait.

As you can see, I already nicked the top of the lippy.
It is due to my complain from the previous Candy Apple post.

a swipe of Peach Parfait
3 swipes of Peach Parfait
The color's beautiful from the tube, peachy brown with glitter.
Had high hopes on this one, however, when I tried it after reapplying,
at the end of the day, I was left with glittery lips after the color wore off.

A very sheer color on my lips. Aside from the glittery feel on my lips, this is a perfect
lippie for me for a no makeup look. I already have a slight pigment on my lips
so it is a perfect way to enhance it without the use of loud color.
But I wouldn't wear this often, I think I'd do if I'm still a sweet 16 :) .
Good to wear to the beach or a plunge in the pool.
Pros:
1. Nice sheer color, buildable.
2. Completely odorless.
3. Last a good 4hours.
4. Cap is color coordinated with lipstick color.
5. Comes cheap.

Cons:
1.Tends to make my lips dry (maybe because of the glitters).
2. Far more glitter than necessary.
3.There isn't much product in the tube.
4. Hard to open tube.

If you want a barely there lipstick with hint of glitter, an ok pick but I wouldn't repurchase.
Although with 20 available colors the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter line,
surely one or two would catch your fancy ;)!

Happy shopping for it, ladies!

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Candy Apple

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple
Price: Php525
Available: Revlon Counters at leading malls

I've had this baby at the same time that hubby got me Enchanted Perfume
(that was 7months ago hahaha!) but only get to  open the tubes just now.
Ops! Forgot about them since I was preoccupied with my fave MAC lippies.
Hubby bought the Candy Apple and Peach Parfait.

Checking out the Candy Apple first

Candy Apple is a beautiful soft red in the tube.
I think this shade of red is safe for those who are afraid of
pigmented red and bright colors on their lips.
This color's not as pigmented as Red Velvet which I originally asked from
hubby to buy but was out of stock. Revlon Colorburst Lipbutter's availbale in 20 shades.
single swipe of Candy Apple
Candy Apple felt like a lipstick with lipbalm and gloss, very moisturizing.
Very Sheer, thus buildable. This is nice for those days that
I want to wear red which doesn't shout 'look at me red'.

Almost the same color as in the tube after 3 swipes.

2 swipes of Candy Apple
I like this lipstick since it is very moisturizing, can wear it everyday without the drying feel.
It is cheaper too for Php525.00 each pop.

If you want something which is not too loud, afraid of look at me colors, certainly a good buy.
But if it is pigment you're after, this is a no go.

Pros:
1. Moisturizing. Glides smoothly when applied.
2. Last a good 4 hours (depending on eat/drink habit).
But gloss like sheen fades after a couple of hours.
3. Completely odorless.
4. Cap is color coordinated with lipstick color.
5. Comes cheap.

Cons:
1. There isn't much product in the tube.
2. A pain to open the tube.
I guess this was the reason I didn't open these babies in the first place, I just can't open them fast!
Would I repurchase? Guess not. I'm not that crazy in love with the color to sacrifice the ease of using it. I already nicked Candy Apple. But I'm still practicing how to open this one nice and smooth. Maybe, I'll have the SA teach me how to do it. :)

Ciao, ladies!
XOXO

Weekly Hauls with Review

Hi lovelies!
Another week passed, as promised, here's my weekend haul reveal and reviews. Hope you ladies find this informative.

make up haul, 3 lipsticks are free

Who doesn't love MAC!? Ladies have been raving about MAC products so, last weekend I got me some essentials. I've always been a The Body Shop advocate, I buy almost all my make up needs from them. They are actually on sale this month...ohh that would be another post and another haul. But my sis-n-law showed and made me use some of her MAC lippies, and I really liked them. So, off I get to know MAC. And these are the two products I purchased: Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation and Pro Longwear Concealer. I wanted to buy the Russian Red lipstick but it's out of stock.
MAC Pro LongWear Concealer
A pump of the Pro Longwear Concealer, I am a NC20

Blending it, I like how it is a little runny, it is easy to blend and feels light weight.
After thorough blending, the concealer seemed to have been absorbed by my skin. Before I bought this product,
I tried it in the MAC counter and I got same result at home.
It really felt lightweight and as my niece put it:
"talagang kumakapit sa skin". And it really does. I guess that's how it became a longwear, it stays and absorbed by the skin. My first use, I applied the concealer then dust it with studio fix at 10am and we went home past 8 in the evening. So, that's a good 10 hours of products  staying power. I didn't have that uncomfortable feeling of a sticky
concealer in my face as I am not used to using concealers or foundations.

my first Studio Fix
NC20

I like how this makes my face smooth, especially when used on top of the longwear concealer. I thought I would look pale in NC20 but this looks fine on me when I use it outside.
These two products are fabulous! I can't wait to get the lippies!
The newest MAC cosmetics counter is at SM Mall of Asia.

Shiseido The Make Up Eyelash Curler with free refill

I also got this eyelash curler. Since college, I've been using the same brand for curling my lash. I think my sister gave me my first Shiseido curlash. This one is meant to be used when you already have your make up. But with make up or none, I like using this. It curls my lashes beautifully and makes them appear longer. I don't use mascara often. I find my curled lashes stay curled longer even without a dab of mascara.

from my beautiful niece
L'Oreal Color Riche 111
Brown Stone
Avon Ultra Color Rich C300
Charged Cherry

I really want to get lipsticks from MAC however, the colors I asked for or describing are out of stock. Well, usually the beautiful palletes goes out of stock first. My niece was kind enough though to give me these new lipsticks for my smackers. She actually made me choose the colors I want from her collection. I can't thank her enough.

Revlon Matte 011
Stormy Pink

the swatches
Surprisingly, I love Avon's charged cherry. It glides beautifully as I am guessing it's a moisture rich lipstick.

Revlon is a true matte lipstick, which can be seen in the swatches, it is a barbie pink. It tends to make my lips dry but I found it best worn with a lip balm applied on the lips first. I use baby lips by Maybelline, the two paired, I find my lips more plump.

Brown Stone is beautiful too! And as I am going out to pick G from school, I am wearing this color. Could be mistaken as nude in one swipe. I find it to be moisturizing my lips as well.

Hope these reviews help you ladies out there.
